this was kinda like a polaroid for the rollei. a digital polaroid if you will. just to test the light. in lieu of the shot with the rollei ... here's this.why ... the rollei makes me want to make photos of people in handcuffs. dunno why. really. dunno.
anyway ... i just thought the juxtaposition of her tattoo on her wrist and the handcuffs was interesting.
canon eos 1d m2. 24-70/2.8L at 2.8. 1/15th sec. 800 iso. conv to b/w in p.s. using channel mixing. add a bit of cont. adj levs.

Rollei hey? That is a coincidence as I was at friends for dinner tonight in High Barnet (North London, kind of the "the valley" in LA) and he said a Rollei would be a good choice for a basic $350USD/£200GBP camera. Nice hand cuffs.

i have a rollei 3.5 GX with a zeiss planar. very nice choice -- if it's working -- for a medium format.
you'll need a light/spotmeter as well.

I'm still not a big fan of handcuffs, personally. They are, to a certain extent, ubiquitous in the adult toybox for some reason... almost cliche'. But that's just me... However, silk rope or nylon straps, unique uses for climbing gear, creative improvisation with clothing or other household articles... that's more imaginative...
Anyhow, I do like the composition, and the placement of the tattoo worked out quite well for this shot. Nice round ass, too... that's a plus. I like the texture on her clothing... ribbed for your pleasure! Nice DoF, too... your signature style.
Excellent shot, for just checking the lighting.

Well... besides the obvious reason ("Chicks dig it") why *else* would you have 'cuffs? Securing the gear, perhaps? Picking 'cuffs is fairly easy, if you have the right stuff.
Flakey I can deal with... sometimes I wouldn't mind a bit of flakey goodness just for the change of pace.

It is an interesting composition. The crop below her bottom including some of her jeans makes it look as if it could be heart shaped. Lovely tattoo, I'd be inspired as well to do something with it photography-wise. I like the contrast of her jeans with her hands being handcuffed. Her hands seem limp as if shes done struggling and has just sort of given up or something.
