Description no ... i didn't crop the photo. i almost never do.

but ... one of the models is holding a crop ... and ... she's quite bored.

that's the funny thing about fashion/entertainment .... it's always HURRY-THE-FUCK-UP and ... wait ... wait ... wait ...

dunno why that is.

but it's the same on film sets.

i must have stood in this position for five minutes ... they notice you at first ... and then you just meld into the scenery.

i love the look on the girl's face with the crop.

she never put it down.

i love how my little friend joline is looking at herself in the mirror.

i love how the stylist is just so concerned about the hair.

when i saw this on the contact sheets ... i had it printed for my wall.

i always wanted joline on my wall.

there was just a big crash in my laundry room ... i have no idea what the hell it was ... but it didn't sound good.

hopefully the chihuahua isn't a flat chihuahua ... a chihuahua tortilla as it were.

dunno why, but what i first noticed were the shoes on the table. in some way, they give perfection to the atmosphere.
love it!

This is brilliant..very Helmut Newton and I fucking love that,

Brilliant Chris...

helmut should watch out ...

i have a rollei now!

actually, he's my favourite inspiration. and, ironically enough, i was going to shoot him at a party for cartier ...

when i was wondering where he was ... i got a call from an a.p. shooter -- as she knew that i was stoked that day -- to tell me that not only did helmut almost hit her while she was going into the chateau marmont ...

that he also died.

i was beyond sad.

i was wondering where you've been!

glad to see you're still "around" as it were.

cheers love,
chris

it is so amazing how your pictures give such a mood .... Im not sure why but its almost in all of your work. its as if you could even hear the sound and in this case some low echo voices rushing past the blonde girl who is so inthoughts. very nice really.

such harsh contrasts, great range of tones. its the mirror that makes it tho, completely opens the scene up creating massive depth. impressive!

It's almost like a different world in the mirror. The model standing seems bored, yet in the mirror she looks tense, almost horrified. The model getting her hair done looks to be patiently waiting to be done, but in the mirror she seems like she's ready to jump up at any moment. And the blonde is aware of everything, though she doesn't care. Wonderful non-existent emotions in the scene.

it just sums up my world ... the world i see day in and day out.

Great photo. I love the feeling of emptiness it evokes. It just makes me think about fashion and models and shallowness and... it's kind of depressing.

Great job.

i love on set shots like this... the ennui of "hurry up and wait". great contrast w/ the happy model in the chair and that bored crop girl. love the contrast, the blown out windows.

what is it about that girl? sorry to cite a all-too-played icon, but kinda reminds me of early betty page: in the midst of kinky proceedings, she's a cheery chipmunk.

fin!

Captures your life it definitely does! This is something that I'd expect to see in a book someday, mate.
Composition in the camera's what it's all about.

Like I've said before I love your play on depth, and the added depth in this one doesn't stray from that.

What exactly is this crop she's holding? (I'm not down with the US-speak yet)

ive looked at this shot for 5 minutes. and all i can say is it would look great on a wall
something "martin parr" about it... minus the color, union jack, and the fact that these people are way to thin to be british and look as if they have proper dental plans.

there are some shots that you simply cant capture w/ an slr... this of course is one of em
