Understanding — Description

Storm and Matthew were characters used in the TG-Fight-Club set in an alternate universe. Both characters were developed considerably during that time. This is an attempt to show that development in the Magic Academy universe.

Things were rather hectic at Magic Academy. While Storm was making plans to take down yet another bully, he was approached by Tony and Sydney. Both of them were angry. Although she was unclear why they were angry, she had no doubt it had something to do with her. She turned to face them.
"What's wrong?" asked Storm.
"This has to end!" insisted Sydney.
"We have no idea what happened to Matthew," added Tony. "I never liked him very much but he deserved better than that."
Storm had taken it upon herself to rid Magic Academy of all the bullies. Matthew was pushing Tony around when she changed him into a girl named Maddison and sent her through a portal to another world. Storm thought she had been careful. Every one of her victims had been given a chance to reform but they refused to take it. She thought she was doing her friends a favor but they clearly did not see it that way.
"Someone has to protect the students here!" argued Storm. "Who else is going to do it? The teachers? They never do anything. Some of them are transformed students anyway. The older students? Some of them are the very bullies we have to fight! Someone has to end it!"
"That's just it!" Sydney snapped back. "This is not ending things. It is only making things worse! They get their revenge on you by taking it out on us."
"We need some kind of truce that will last long enough for us to graduate," considered Tony. "First though we have to find Matthew."
"Alright, I will find him," conceded Storm.
Storm chanted a spell slowly and with purpose. Each syllable was pronounced carefully to make sure the spell went exactly the way she wanted it. The portal opened pulling Storm and only Storm inside. Tony and Sydney were left at Magic Academy to wonder what happened.
Storm made her way around the other world. Eventually she found Maddison who had gotten in trouble with the locals. She agreed to change her back on the condition that there was no more bullying. Once the deal was made, Maddison became Matthew once again.
Getting back was more difficult than either of them expected. There were many monsters in that world forcing the two of them to work together. With help they were eventually able to return to Magic Academy. Storm and Matthew went their separate ways. Neither of them wanted to see the other again any time soon.
Whether Storm wanted to admit it or not, she had been reminded that the bullies who were her victims were also human beings. It was unlikely Matthew would reform but that was not the point. The circle of violence had to be broken and the only person she could truly make do it was herself. It had to start somewhere.
Storm returned to Tony and Sydney and talked with them about what to do. Brute force, or brute magic, was not solving the problem. Neither was just letting things happen. Perhaps there was a way of letting them see the consequences of their actions. A plan like that would take time. It would not be easy but this time he would not have to do things on his own.
