Alistair lived in Europe in the twenty-third century. Being a good student he received an invitation to attend a prestigious school on a remote island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. It was the opposite side of the world. He accepted and made arrangements to travel with all expenses paid.

The invitation said if he attended he would also be part of some sort of experiment. Alistair did not pay much attention to the part. He wanted to attend and testing out some products would be a small price to pay, or so he thought.

A small, futuristic plane arrived to take Alistair to his destination. Once he was safely onboard he was injected with some nanobots. They explained the nanobots would alter his body structure and give him a new appearance. The selection would be random within certain parameters.

The nanobots entered his bloodstream and started making changes from the inside out. The first thing was his genitals were changing. With a sigh he realized there was a 50-50 chance of that happening and it was going to happen to him. Also he, or she, was becoming lighter, thinner, and slightly taller. Looking at her reflection in the window she thought she was more attractive than she was before.

Alistair was given the name of Audrey. In her current state, using her old name would be embarrassing. During the flight the changes continued. Her body hair gradually faded away along with any other masculine features she may have had. New feminine features developed and became more and more pronounced. Even her hair was arranged into a more feminine hairstyle.

Audrey was given the school uniform and instructed to change into it. It consisted of a blouse, a skirt, a jacket, black stockings, and black boots. She went into the bathroom and changed. The bathroom mirror gave her a chance to take a better look at herself. She thought she looked really good.

This made Audrey wonder if the nanobots would alter her sexual preferences. If they would it clearly had not happened yet and she found herself infatuated with herself. It gave new meaning to the term narcissism. For the remainder of the flight she sat in the seat and let the nanobots do their work. It was too late to back out of it.

The plane landed on the remote island in the Pacific Ocean where the school was located. The school had two dorms. The north one had all boys and the south one had all girls. Audrey was sent to the girls' one. She guessed half the girls there had once been boys, like herself, and the experiment was to see if anyone could tell which was which.

Audrey was looking forward to visiting the other dorm. Half of them had once been girls and would be in the same boat she was. There would just be no way to tell which was which.
