Vector Vengers: Red-Wolf — Description
The son of the Cheyenne tribal leader in the Montana reservation where he lived, William Talltrees was a man dedicated to his people. Growing up, he often heard the tales of Owayodata the Wolf God and legends of his human emissaries that walked the Earth in days past, like Johnny Wakely and Thomas Thunderhead. Serving the will of Owayodata, many Cheyenne people had worn the mantle of the Red-Wolf and sought justice under that guise.

So when the criminal entrepreneur Cornelius van Lunt, otherwise known as Taurus, sent his goons who kill William's family, he swore to enact vengeance. Donning the ceremonial garb of the Red-Wolf,Talltrees was visited by Owayodata himself, and granted mystic abilities including enhanced speed, strength, senses, stamina and reflexes. Armed with his coup stick and partnered with a wold named Lobo (my aunt once had a cat named "Cat"), this new Red-Wolf, much like the former bearers of this mantle, mades things very uncomfortable by also wearing a wolf pelt on his head. That MUST have freaked out poor Lobo.

Anyway, Red-Wolf went after Van Lunt with a bloody intent, even drawing the Avengers into the battle. Van Lunt seemingly perished, but it's hard to keep a good Lunt down.

Red-Wolf and Lobo later teamed up with the heroine Tigra and somehow together defeated the ulta-powerful Super Skull. Taking a shine to team-ups, he and other western heroes The Phantom Rider, Texas Twister, Shooting Star and Firebird joined together to help the Hulk. They then decided to form their own superteam called The Rangers. But the American Southwest is a huge piece of real estate, so they team was short-lived (hey, gas is expensive, even for superheroes).
