Vector Villains: Grizzly — Description
Maxwell Markham was a professional wrestler with a bad attitude. Known as The Grizzly, his in-ring persona was just as savage as his namesake, often going rogue and brutally injuring his fellow performers. This led to an expose by J Jonah Jameson, that resulted in Markham being banned from the sport. Markham vowed revenge, but did not get his chance for 10 years (I guess he was hibernating).

The supervillain, the Jackal, provided Markham with a special exoskeleton that enhanced his strength and durability. But this is comics, so the exosuit was also a silly bear costume. As the new and improved Grizzly, he attacked the Daily Bugle, looking to find JJJ. Luckily Spider-Man was there to save the day (as usual).

Now vowing vengeance on Spidey instead of Jameson, Grizzly tried many times to defeat the Webslinger, failing each time and ending up in prison. Surprisingly, NOT a zoo.

Grizzly eventually teamed up with other goofy villains in The Spider-Man Revenge Squad, with The Spot, Gibbon, and the 2nd Kangaroo. Everyone just called them The Legion of Losers, though. He and Gibbon eventually realized they weren't into this after Spot and Kanga robbed a bank. These two furry buds just wanted to beat Spidey. But to defeat their more evil teammates, they ended up teaming up WITH and befriending Spider-Man.

Grizzly tried his hand at being a hero, but it never took. Perhaps because trying to strike fear into the hearts of evildoers isn't very effective when you are dressed like a giant teddy bear.
