Description so ... imagine ...

75 photographers -- not paparazzi, just so you know -- with about 68 of them screaming. i mean fucking screaming.

they want "the eye contact" shot.

they don't care about publicity for the corporate sponsors.

they want stock.

they yell.

they verbally abuse publicists.

i've watched and listened.

although they are NOT paparazzi -- they're referred to as press line photographers as paparazzi make unauthorized photos whilst following around their prey -- but, that said, you wouldn't believe the roar.

especially when someone is always in the news. mischa. lindsay. paris. i know ... they're not gwyneth or nicole ... but ... in terms of fodder for the weeklies and monthlies ... the public can't get enough.

you have to understand. the collective weeklies will publish about eight photographs from this night. seventy-five photographers. eight photos.

and then there's the material that john, vespa and myself which will be "different."

like this one:

people magazine liked it and the reason i make note of it ... is that it's not a nipple slip ... it's not something defamatory. it's just a girl.

arriving on a red carpet.

telling the seventy-five to be quiet ...

whilst she says hello to a friend.

she was actually saying, "guys ... please ... just a moment."

because she knew that i'm doing something different.

that ... and i've known her since she was 16.

she looked amazing last night in both this and when she walked the runway during a fashion show.

the tabloid people ... the online gossip freaks ... they can say anything they'd like...

this is a nice girl.

what the fuck is a twenty-something supposed to do with access to everything ...

stay home and fucking knit?

puhlease.

she's gonna party.

she's gonna hookup.

she's gonna have a hangover.

she's just like us.

unless all you do is sit at home and knit.

canon e1dm2. 24-70/2.8L. 1/50th or so at f/5.0 or so. minor levels. minor contrast. always a bit of unsharp mask to take care of what the low-pass filter does to a photo. yes ... a bit off-camera flash with ttl cord.

i sit home and knit dammit! speaking of which, it's past my curfew..

seriously, though, very fine shot here. love how the moment happened

i've always wondered what those photographers have to do to compete for attention with a million other people, and what the stars do when they are walking down the carpet. i'm sure they get used to it

Stunning... Great shot of a beautiful lady. Lots of expression in those eyes and smile.

You're right, Chris... I wouldn't be sitting home either.

hard living a normal life with people constantly waiting for you to move and mess up. I guess at some point they say screw it and just go on living the way they want to.
