usually we break this shit up ... front-row and backstage ... or front-row ... backstage ... show ...you almost never shoot all of it. one or two aspects.
well .. i'm stupid ... i did 'em all...
having an edit-staff helps, though.
imagine ... 70 friggin' photographers ... all packed in the media riser ...
and this in addition to electronic crews.
some are pros ... you know ... because you see them all over the place and you know their work ...
some ... are fucking tourists.
my spot on the media riser says, "Chris Weeks / All Shows / Fuck Off." Nonetheless some fucking neophyte will try and put his/her stuff down and take the spot.
well ... i'm in my fucking little square ... i move a foot to the left and some dipshit is trying to shoe horn in to which i say, "What the fuck do you think you're doing?"
"dude, relax."
"no you fucking relax and get the fuck out of my spot."
he looks at me.
"take your toy-fucking-camera (he was holding a digital rebel and a five-six zoom on a 75mm lens) and leave."
he looks at me.

yes, i sound harsh but ... we have jobs to do ... and these people just want to take pictures of pretty girls...
we -- the people who have a legitimate reason for being there -- do as well ...
but ... the eyes of the world see our work.
and i had no idea my little friend martina from moscow had it in her to give erin a little spank.

hmm nice shot.. however.. i find it annoying that you sound quite mean towards morons who take your spot. For intance, I had the pleasure of getting punched in the face at a concert, by a photographer. Just for standing in the crowd and obiously too close to the guy (have to add, that the idiot wanted to take pics in the middle of a mosh pit). It's obiously different when someone simply takes your place away though.
btw, love your gallery, just saying that keep your cool. There are people and there are stupid people- you gotta stand them both.

I agree, I was pretty taken aback when I read the artist comments and heard the way he treated that guy - and insulted him as a photographer. We all have to start some where and not everyone can afford an amazing camera and not everyone knows how to be a great photographer when they are just starting out. He could have been a beginner.
I know Chris is a great photographer, but that doesn't give him the right to treat people like that, not to mention dropping the F-boom left and right like that ...classy ..yeah, real classy. I just discovered his gallery and like his art, but hope he's not as much of a jerk as he comes off here in his comments.
