Words Below:
Habiki was paranoid. He constantly wondered what people were saying about him when he was not there. The only way he could find out was to somehow listen in on people talking about him without them knowing he was there. He needed to be a fly on the wall.
That was exactly what Habiki was going to do. He had a basic grasp of magic, which included temporary shape shifting powers. All he needed to do was find the appropriate form to take. As soon as the circumstances lined up just right, he would be able to do it.
A few days later, Habiki got his chance. Some of his friends and acquantances were in the other room having a conversation. He heard his name mentioned so he knew at least part of the conversation was about him. He spotted a fly buzzing around nearby and knew this was his chance.
Habiki cast a spell on himself so he would change into the form of the fly. Unfortunately, he was not as skilled as he thought. As he shrank more rapidly than expected he knew something had gone wrong.
A number of features appeared found on neither the fly nor Habiki. Color vanished from his skin leaving it almost pure white. Wings grew out of his back but they looked more like the wings of a moth than the wings of a fly. As moth antenna grew out of his head, Habiki realized he must have cast the spell on the wrong bug.
The moth, or whatever, had been female so Habiki became female too. The ends of her arms and legs became fuzzy and her eyes turned a bright red. She had shrunk down to the size of a bug and was flying through the air as if she did so every day.
Habiki waited for additional changes to occur. When none happened, she turned her attention back to her original goal. She wanted to listen in on their conversation. Despite all the unexpected changes, she would still be able to do it.
The door had been left slightly open so Habiki was able to fly inside. She spent most of her time flying around the light like a moth would do so she would not attract too much attention. It turned out they were talking about Habiki. They were worried about Habiki's paranoia and wanted to do something about it.
Considering her current situation, Habiki knew that they were right. She had taken her paranoia to unhealthy levels and needed to get help. She just needed to leave the room before she changed back, if she changed back.
