Description
One of the few faeries I've actually painted...I mean to start painting more humanoid figures in the future; I am inherently better at animals than I am at the human body, but I'll never get anywhere, I suppose, if I don't practice.8" x 10", watercolor, 2007.

I was looking up pictures of mushrooms for my girl (she's a shroom freak... although I think it's a carry-over from her drug days) and saw this picture. I don't typically like fairy art, but your choice of colors and details in the flora made this a captivating picture. The fairy really seems to glow in this, even on a computer monitor!

That is gorgeous! I love a good fantasy painting and that is definitely a good fantasy painting.
I love the fairy made of light, the pose, the flowing hair, the composition of the shot, it's got a wonderful balance, and allows the eye to flow across it, while also being nicely balanced without at all looking "structured" - which I think is especially important in a fantasy painting.
And I love the overall soft watercolor feel to it.

This is beautiful. Reminds me of a piece that I started not too long ago but still havent finished it. For some reason I just love drawing mushrooms. I love the design of the fairy and how she glows. Wonderful
