Description
this mask is part of a whole suit. i built a fiberglass skull frame on top of a foam bicycle helmet. made the eyes from gum ball mechine plastic cases and painted inside in reverse. sculpted the teeth and nose, and cast them in latex.the entire suit is faux fur that i hand shaved to get ruff textures. then sewed long hair fibers into the faux fur. i then air brushed the fur with dyes. the suit has 4 computer fans to assist in cooling and special shoes i designed to form the dog legs. all together i spent less than 200 dollars on supplies and built it in about 1 month, off and on. hope you liketo see more of the werewolf suit click on this link

Holy crap, when I first saw this I thought it was a photoshop thing. But since it's real it's sooo much scarier. Tip, keep that thing away from kids!
Or...dress up and go to a haunted house *giggle* THAT would be fun to see...

Thats what it was for. When I built it it was for one of the haunted attractions I used to run. Thank you.

thanks, Ive always loved the look of the Howling wolves hence the ears. I had them conected to a chin strap so when you opened your mouth the ears pulled back. The longer ears played to the effect better.

One of the scariest (BEST) werewolves I've ever seen. I didn't even realize it was a suit until I clicked on it. Well done! You really have an amazing talent and a good concept of fear!

Holy of holies. You've gotta post a pic of the whole suit now.
I've been wanting to construct a costume for a while now, but being a poor college student... Well, yeah.
I thought about creating a rig to extends the forearms a bit, and with a locking wrist joint, like they use for realistic gorilla costumes. I am interested in how you made the legs. I've been trying to thing of a way myself...

indeed! My thoughts exactly. In MHO, the howlings werewolves were some of the best in film. I also liked van helsings, Dog soldiers, Underworlds and The Wolfman's XD

That looks pretty damned good, especially considering some of the stuff you used . I think the face and teeth look very nice, the only part I'm not liking are the ears. They are a bit too long/triangular IMO...they look too stiff. I've worked on a couple werewolf masks that I never finished, so I understand how awkward/tricky ears can be. I usually slick the ears back like my werewolf sculptures. Nice job though! Werewolves are not easy creatures to create! I want to make my own costume when I can afford to how I like. Good idea with the helmet, I'm sure that supports it well.

thank you. I have always liked the ears on the Howling wolves myself. I know they are not realistic but at night give off a demon quality to them. They are operated with remote by servos so they go up straight and pull back

Welcome.
It is acually.. Hmmhmm, he has realistic horns, I thought they were real but they are made of wood putty... But to be honest the costume in total weighs like 80 pounds... wayyyy to heavy for me to wear it... Biggest weight is the head though, but no way of getting cold in the middle of winter even in that.
