Hey Tim, its Aran here ( studio7designs )
I have started a gallery dedicated to the hauntingly beautiful and surreal in nature ( therefor "elysium" )
I am posting this picture as the first photo in the gallery.
I still have a lot of work to do to get the gallery set up.. but it should be running in about a week.

Yes, they appeared on the morning of Jan 31 and I couldn't shake the durn things loose. Looking around at that point I found I was several miles up and becaome completely awestruck by the beauty of my surroundings. I temporarily forgot my struggle with the feathery fiends, and as quick is a milk drink, I snapped off around 200 shots.
Remarkably, I found I'd developed a modicum of control over my newest appendages shortly before things might have plunged into eternal darkness and I was able to land safely and head over to the mine mess for a crooked breakfast of coffee, kippers and bullshit on toast. Later, I won the lottery and gave it all to charity, stumbled on the Lost City Of Atlantis (recieving a nasty toe stubbing in the process) and was inspired by a flock of passing piglets to resolve the inconsistencies in Einstein's (now-finished) 'Special Theory Of Relativity'.
Of course, I was becoming a little peeky by that juncture, so I decided to call it a day and propped myself on a barstool for a refreshing liquid lunch, during which time, sox gorgeous blondes tried annoyingly to pick me up. i tell you, if I hear the '..or are you just pleased to see me' line one more time...! Grr..
Thinking back, it wasn't a bad day, all in all. The only downside I could isolate was that I could only find three nice captures in the original 200 shots. A pretty poor batting average, wouldn't you agree?

Also you've captured the whiteness and peacefulness of clouds pretty well.

The good thing in 20D is that the start time is so small that you don't have to think about it

Great set as usual, Timtam. I'm going to have to agree with, well, everyone and say this is the best of the three. The touch of visible land at the bottom right really helps anchor it, I think.

I hadn't seen anything like it either, until that afternoon - you can tell the sun is very low in the sky - it's nearly sunset, plus we were flying into the sun, so it's probably fairly rare that anyone aside from airline staff see this kind of thing regularly. Consider myself quite lucky really..
