flower pixie... colored w.i.p — Description
decided to give coloring another round... still figuring out what colors to use on the flower. the colors r looking a bit strong. looks like i have the tendency to use colors on the vibrant side, although i originally wanted to use soft colors.

her skin color look horrible... ha ha. still all over the place i guess... i have a lot to learn.

anyway, i went in blind, no plans at all for the colors, & she ended up as a golden pixie... ha ha. i am currently discovering how color combinations & layering works. it's amazing how u can add totally opposite colors & they look good together. like a little bit of sky blue can brighten up yellow, & how purple/lilac can add dimensions to orange, green & purple can work well with red, & light blue blends well with pink. i would never have thought of using such combinations like 5 years ago...

made use of tips i got from my coloring gurus... & thanks guys. long time no hear, i missed u.

i still need to learn how to shade faces though... i can cheat with a chibi or simple faces like this, but i can't shade a more featured faces without it looking weird.

i am beginning to feel that coloring is fun... i can do this more often. ><
