Disney mermaids are fun as hell to draw and I'll forever be that little 8 year old girl who wants to be Ariel when I grow up (but a slightly less naive and stupid version)... but dudes the ocean's a tough place. There's sharks and creepy things no one wants to think about and oil spills and shit... mermaids need to be a little more prepared.This one's mildly prepared. There's a sword. Right there. And some stuff in some pouches. Maybe magic. Who the hell knows. I don't even remember drawing this.
(BTW I know, red hair and green tail. But no, not supposed to be any version of Ariel whatsoever)

Oh man. If I could draw Disney style (or draw at all) I would totally draw Ariel sad and covered in oil as a protest.
...Wait, now I can't help but think of Ariel covered in baby oil and it's turning into another pinup of her.

Very cool. And even though she had red hair, I didn't think Ariel because it was a much darker shade. My first thought was "Is this Ariel's bad ass cousin?".
But all the same, very cool.
