Less than half of the eligible voting population actually participates in national elections, which makes non-voters the real deciding majority. I wonder if there shouldn't be a indifferent party for these guys... or at least something that is automatically formed whenever somebody decides to not vote...
That way I could declare myself as indifferent to all the other voteable partys and make political indifference a political force of its own.
We might also get rid of Trump that way...

No seriously, the amount of indeferents should be taken in consideration for the weighning of political power or in its play of it.
And a party that says "We might not know the solution for everything and we don't care what it is going to be, but we'll do everything to make things somehow work smoothly" would be the most honest one we could get. But also the most vague...

Even with mandatory voting I still have a bit of fun and my own slight protest… I voted for the Australian Sex Party in the state election. In all seriousness though, a couple of their policies, like taxation for churches, were a draw for me. Course, they really don’t have the budget to compete with the two main parties, Labor and Liberal.
Safe to say this has one of the most apt descriptions I’ve seen on election day and what that entails. It certainly says a lot for how disillusioned we’ve all become with voting policy and how much of a joke “democratic” voting has become. As far as those who identify as “indifferent” go, they’ve got their own lives to lead and would feel much better if the government didn’t interfere. The struggle continues on...

I think a lot of indifference is just jaded disillusionment. But I like the idea of voting for the Dance Party in the next election. If enough join in, we can stage a Dance Dance Revolution!

Null-ing (for ex: checking every boxes) a vote is quite different than not going to vote. The latter says "do as you will or please, I don't care" and could induce "i will not make a revolution about it, don't bother!".
On the other end, if the half of voting people go and null their vote, it doesn't make appear a Genie out of the poll and form a nice government. It's a two step dance. After many of you actively refuse the steps, than a great dancer might take over the party.

If enough voters don't vote, the political system will become dominated by the wing-nut whack-jobs who always vote until the whole country goes crazy, which will then force everyone to become politically engaged and active.
The only way to get comfortable people to revolt is to rock their recliners hard enough so they fall out instead of fall asleep.

or to induce fear in them about the steadiness of their recliners.
or to educated them that without neighboring peace, their recliners would not swing in peace...
fear of war is (alas) the strongest motivator to maintain peace.
And I strongly mean "maintaining it", because forcing it is the beginning of the end of maintaining peace (!)...

Love warning the Man about the vote. Though my problem with the de facto oligarchy is that it's the corporate plutocracy that's really running the show. Ballots can't compete with billions.
