Read the thing. It is amazing. Like if Stephen King, Tim Burton, Neil Gaiman, and Joss Whedon got together to write a story about superheros.
The pictures are fanart of the main character, Skitter. The pic you posted made me think of her... It's the whole 'inhuman' aesthetic. Skitter was known for that.

The monster climbing over the wall is Lung, a man that can transform into a giant, metal-scaled, pyrokinetic dragon thing. In that form, he can regenerate any wounds in minutes, if not seconds (including: severed limbs, broken spine, disembowelment, DECAPITATION, etc). Leviathan sank Kyushu and Newfoundland (while fighting the local equivalent of the Justice League) all by his lonesome. Lung walked away from the fight with Leviathan with a few scrapes that had healed by the next day. Skitter: TERRIFIES LUNG TO THE POINT THAT HE FLEES AT THE MENTION OF HER POSSIBLE PRESENCE ON THE FIELD...
