Description
Sheida attempts to stretch, and feels her lower back/withers point being tighter than usual; Sheida grimaces in pain. She growls under her breath.
"Oh, you jerk..."
As Turris visits more frequently after Sheida has foaled her twin children, Turris would regularly engage in morning calisthenics. Intrigued, Sheida would study her Harrier companion in an attempt to get a better understanding of Turris's morning ritual. Turris spots his centauride beloved with the corner of his one functional eye, and briefs her in the purpose of calisthenics. Sheida was aware of the need to be physically fit, but had no knowledge of humanoid exercise regimens. Feeling the need to return herself back into shape after giving birth, she asks Turris to help her recondition herself, in which Turris gladly accepts.
The first exercise were hamstring stretches. Sheida attempts the same stretch that Turris engages in, and feels her human lower back give. Seeing Sheida's apparent lack of flexibility, Turris smirks and stifles a chuckle. Sheida winces in pain and curses at her Harrier mate.
Sheida's return to prime condition will take much longer than expected.
I began this sketch about a year ago, but didn't get to finish it until just this week...since my attention has been all over the place lately. Depression and anxiety hasn't helped me in this case, either. But...here it is, finished and ready for showcasing. Oh, also, I've been meaning to make Turris blind in one eye. My first sketches of Turris back in 2000 had Turris with an eyepatch over his right eye with a visible scar showing along the right side of his face. Turris would wear an eyepatch for many years, until Sheida reassures him that 1 blind left eye will not scare her away. Also, a more recent addition to Turris are the feathery nubs on his upper back, as a way to display his true avian physiology. Here, his wings are retracted and only appear as small, vestigial feathered nubs. They do extend out and transform into gloriously feathered falcon-like wings.

Her bust didn't really grow that much post-maternity, and she's also wearing a top to hold her girls in. As much as I wanted to, Sheida was the one I didn't exaggerate boob size on. As much as I love larger breasts, Sheida still has a charm all her own.

Centaurs and centaurides are indeed fun (and rewarding) to draw. In my opinion, centaurides are the most beautiful out of all fictional and mythological creatures.

I appreciate the appraisal. I'm still trying to familiarize myself with centaur(ide) anatomy, and the most difficult part is where the humanoid waist and equine withers transition into each other, especially the muscle attachments. Most often than not, I've cheated by adding a sash/belt around the waist and a loincloth, and by drawing from the front view. It gets more difficult when I'm drawing from the side and behind...which is where the sash/belt/loincloth usually comes into play.
I was tempted to draw her in the nude, but seeing as I gave Turris a fundoshi, I felt that just 1 article of clothing would be needed, so I went with a crude bikini top for Sheida.

Yes. Being out of shape is a fairly common occurrence, likely more of a problem for centaurs, however I would imagine.

It was rather painful to her, but at least it wasn't the crippling kind of injury; she was just stiff and not used to stretching that way. She'll eventually regain some of her old flexibility in the near future, but at least her mate is there with her during her rehabilitation.
If you remember one of the previous drawings of Sheida, as she was drawing the bow, she had toned arms and seemed much more fit. This moment here, where she's exercising and stretching, this is some time before she becomes more physically fit. She chooses to recondition herself as a way to prove to Turris that she too has the warrior drive.

Hmmmmm... What if that centaurs had their other necks, between their lower-bodies' shoulders and either their upper-bodies' ribs or their upper-bodies' pelvises, so that they can get more of a flexibility than before?
