Mastermind 0039 — Description
One of the real key panels in explaining everything, plus this just goes some fun places. The men in this series have all went mad from their powers (Overlord, Iron Cross, and others). Since men get powers from darkness, they can stay mostly covered up and have power all day. The women are powered by natural sunlight, and must show skin to absorb it. The government can't stand naked female superheroes, so they get shut away - women still deal with the problem cases though so it is unavoidable. So the ladies get kept here and play cleanup for all the power-tripping male villains.

Part of this was in the series The Unit (panel 10) when it was revealed Iron Cross was once "Father Hero" and a good guy. Alva wants to kill him now so there is bad blood between them.

And Dr. Chase suspects a connection to Duchess but cannot prove it, and the government won't authorize research into any other gods than the one god the government does recognize.

Oddly enough, there is one male in the canon who has NOT went crazy and there is a reason for that too. One slightly hinted at here. No spoilers.
