I think I can call this done. There will probably be some tweaks I feel the need to make as soon as it's uploaded, because that's just how things work out for me.
Anyway, I can say I'm happeeeee that this picture is finally done. I think this is the best workout I've given my new tablet, but it's not all that new, since it was a last year's Christmas present. Sad. On the other hand, hurray for <3ing art again.

This was definitely a challenge to do, between the sketching, inking, and coloring. I must've gone through a couple other lighting roughs after uploading the WIP. There are some things that make me go :C, but they're kinda minor compared to the rest of the pic, which I am happy with. The more I work with Sai, the more I love it, too

Potential SPOILERS time - don't read beyond this if you haven't played the game and don't wanna be spoiled, etc..

The story behind this whole pic idea happens not too long after the Trouble of the Home Front quest, which I did as soon as I finished the Waters of Life quest.
Dimitri's not in the best state, and the chaos of the Project Purity escape has kinda dammed up her emotions. After dropping off Dr. Li and co' at the Citadel, she makes her way back to Megaton with plans to just deal with stuff, but finds a distress signal instead.
She helps out the Vault by convincing Amata's dad with the 'let them out or you'll all be inbred morons in a few generations!' route, and is thanked with a lifetime ban from home, given by her former best friend. Lame, and it doesn't help the emotions she's trying to keep packed down, because that's just what she does.
So Dimi slinks to Megaton and loses a few days to the effects of over-indulging in some whiskey before the need to do something gets her off her ass. Her efforts to try and mourn her dad fail, as all she feels is utter loathing for the Enclave, and now the Vault situation. But Moira wants her to go to Rivet City for info gathering, and focusing on surviving Super Mutant and Raider encounters helps get her mind off things and simmers some of her anger.
Then, after some information fetching, she finds herself in the Muddy Rudder and encounters Butch. Fortunately, for him, he's not a 101er she'd like to tenderize with her fists and she decides a drinking buddy would be a good thing. All goes well at first - she joins his 'new' gang, and some laughs are had. But then, not knowing of James' demise(officer Gomez is the only one you get to tell, I think XD), Butch makes a comment about him.. probably along the lines of 'When you find that crazy, shit-disturbing dad of yours, I want to thank him. We'd all still be stuck in the Vault if it wasn't for him.." blahblahblah.
Alas, those adjectives turn whiskey into a flame to ignite the bomb within the poor girl, and so after an angry 'fuck off', she further responds with splitting Butch's lip with a fist, and the truce made a couple months before James left the Vault is tossed aside XD (I did write a little story about that, but it needs a part 1 before it's shareable). He retaliates by giving her the nosebleed, and Dimi goes all 'oh no you didn't!' and kicks him out of his chair, pins his arm so he can't get his blade, and prepares to do some tenderizing with a mean right arm.
But no more blows are given, because at that moment, they get their asses kicked from the bar by Mr. Bouncer. Their anger is directed at the guy just doing his job, but just with swearing and rude gestures before they remember that Rivet City is crawling with security. Drunk, roughed up, and bleeding, they hang out for a bit and Dimi properly answers Butch's earlier comment by saying her dad is dead. Cue some sympathy words, followed by awkward silence, which is eventually broke by something like 'I got more booze in my room. Wanna go drink it?' 'Kay.'
