Description
Hello! welcome to the first part of the tutorial. My name is Poppinoffyosocks, but you knew that already. If you're reading this it probably means you want to start making inflation pictures in Garry's Mod. Don't worry, we'll get to that in a bit. For now, we need to focus on two things that are important for almost any picture; the object of interest (in this case a model/ragdoll), and the setting.
The ragdoll is probably the most important thing you'll be working with, so we'll start with that. we'll cover inflating the ragdoll in another part, so let's focus on ragdoll choice. Be sure to choose a ragdoll that works well with the tools we'll be using (because a lot of them don't).Don't be afraid to download models of the steam workshop. As a matter of fact, get used to downloading models off the steam workshop; a lot of the vanilla models don't work very well. For this tutorial, I'll be using the HD Femme Pyro Model off of the work shop.
Choosing the setting shouldn't be too hard. Pick a setting that works well with the model you've chosen (I chose gm_construct because I'm lazy). In addition, also try to think of the context behind the situation of the picture. I always find I like pictures that have a little explanation as to why a character becomes rounder and softer more than those that don't, even if it's a very simple explanation.
That's all for part one! be sure to check for part two where I'll discuss the tools we'll be using.
