If you've spent some time messing around with the tool guns then you've probably noticed one labelled: "lamps". Lamps create light that shine in a certain direction (like a flashlight). Lamps are also very versatile; you can change their colour, brightness, field of view, and how far they project. In addition, lamps can also reduce the reflection on a shiny balloon depending on the colour of the balloon and lamp. In conclusion, It's not just recommended, but almost ESSENTIAL for a gmod picture to use lighting. (and yes the picture above is a horrible example)Bonus tips:
-use the colour of a lamp to set the mood for a picture
-try using two different colours for two seperate lamps and see what you come up with
