Backstory: Born and raised as a kittypet near RiverClan, they met Shrikefrost when he was an apprentice. They showed concern for Shrikepaw when the tom was hurt from bullying, and they quickly became friends.
They decided to move into Shrikefrost's clan, intrigued by clan life and wanting more than to just be a kittypet.
However when they did travel to RiverClan, their eye was gouged out by a rogue and RiverClan nursed them back to health with Shrikefrost feeling like it was a bad omen that Hawkshard got badly injured immediately.
Hawkshard reassured Shrikefrost that even if he got injured, he was willing to stay, because they loved him. Shrikefrost was taken aback by the confessions, but returned their feelings, and they became mates.
Hawkshard became a warrior shortly thereafter, and most of RiverClan now sees them as one of them, even if sometimes their kittypet origins make them stand out.
