"You too were once a lowly mortal," Lady Necro hissed as she paced around Amber. "You are all insignificant to me, nothing more than insects in need of extermination. Remember that I, and only I am immortal."

"Forgive me, mistress," Amber rasped, rubbing her throat. "I was only speaking my mind."

"You would do well to keep such thoughts in your mind next time," Lady Necro hissed. With a wave of her hand, the darkness faded, and Amber collapsed to the ground. Struggling to sit up she found that the wrinkles had gone away and she could breath again. Was it all an illusion? Amber thought.

"Why though, Lady Necro," Amber said. "What is so important about this girl, Scarlet is our enemy? You promised me a chance to kill Scarlet, remember."

"Patience Amber," Lady Necro replied. "All in due time. Scarlet is not going anywhere, Amber. I don't want to just kill Scarlet, that would be too quick."

"Then what are you doing?" Amber asked.
