Description
I painted this on livestream, [link] and all the videos are in the on demand library complete from beginning to end.Painted in Corel Painter X with a Wacom Bamboo Fun, apart from the very last bit that was painted using my brand new Intuos4
I used the very beautiful as reference for the sketch, but the painting was from imagination so it ended up not looking much like her.

How did I not see it before? It's amazing! What an exquisite yet subtle combination of colours

Very nice use of colour. The lines it the hair are very flowy. Great job.

It's very pretty, but I think it's lacking some color variety. My favorite part is the lips -- they're so full and juicy lol Oh, and she doesn't have any eyelashes.

I'm obsessed with painting lips
Yes, I tried to make it so that the only real colour was in the eyes. I had that image in my head for weeks. It was driving me nuts insisting on getting painted. ^_^ The eyes have no lashes because I wanted it to look a bit like a sculpture. Marble sculptures just don't have lashes, I guess it would break off or something like that. 0_o Plus, I suck at painting lashes! They are my most hated part of painting a face! >_<

i don't really want to criticise something finished, buuuut when its just a little edit and the rest is so amazingly beautiful (like the lips or the eyes and the lower part of the hair) i just have to ^^. its the fringe and the upper part of her head. because her hair is very voluminous her upper head has to be bigger/higher. (its not on the reference anymore) you also changed the angle or her head a bit so that her chin is shorter (the forhead is more in the front) this makes her look cuter so you also have to make the upper part of the head bigger like the lower part like the the eyes a bit bigger and the nose more from the upper side but its just a tiny little bit and its not really necessary just an idea
... ok now i write too much... what i wanted to say erm... (useless selftalk) make her fringe and her upper head longer and the angle of the hair where it goes into her head not so flat (she has really a lot wavy hair) (work of 5 min) . then it looks alright
. i'm silent again

Ooh, thanks for the input. Yes, I plan to do some changes on this eventually, but for now I'm just going to leave it be for a while. It's one of those paintings I just feel very "done" with. I have about 8 paintings in the making at the moment. Gah, why do I keep getting new ideas while I'm still working on something else?

haha i could answer that XD. It could have something to do with the arrousalniveau in your brain or the concentration of your domamine, serotonine and noradrenaline ^^. Or we could just say your very creative or a bit manic. i'm looking forward to see all those 8 finished!!!
(i also have that many unfinished pieces i can't keep up with)

I find that it is even harder to finish paintings in summer.
Way too much fun to be had outside.

breathtaking! I just got the bamboo fun for my birthday and I love it. I DO have a question/request. I just started using corel painter elements and don't understand it much at all. I see you used painter X and I was wondering if you could check out my work and offer any critique. I was also curious which brushes you used for this. Especially for the hair and skin. I can't find any that do what I am used to doing when I had photoshop.
