Description
Following the dramatic approach, the patrol ship set down gently. The distant roar of machines died down, leaving the command center silent safe for rattling computers. A few decks below, the doors of the hangar opened with a whine. The hull was creaking, coming to terms with the sudden change in temperature and pressure.
Still fixating the screens, Captain Herrim looked outside into the desert night. Hard beams of light from the lower lamps pierced through the settling sand.
"Landing party ready?", captain Herrim inquired. All stations on the hangar deck confirmed.
"Good. Launch MGEs one through four. They are to first secure a perimeter, and then begin recon."
