Three-headed manifestation of the Hindu god from Jammu and Kashmir, c. 750-825, Amsterdam. Resulting from Alexander the Great’s conquests and the subsequent spread of the Greco-Buddhist art style from Gandhara, ancient Hindu art and architecture from Jammu and Kashmir were influenced by Greek culture. Characteristically Kashmiri features are the tripartite crown and muscular body.
