Tom, as far as I remember, I've viewed a few clips of the girls I mentioned above, and all three were driving with left foot on the wheel and right foot managing both the accelerator and brake. Especially Jessica Cox does it very well; she's a very good driver and she pilots an aircraft as well. Louis, this lovely girl is my armless favourite. I've viewed several youtube videos of her driving with left above elbow amputee Arianna Masten sitting aside, and it was spectacular ! Arianna couldn't do the same...

A real challenge, isn't it ? However, other armless women (Barbara Guerra, Jessica Cox, Jessica Parks etc.) manage to drive a car with their feet (left foot on the steering wheel, right foot on the pedals). A car without any special device for the disabled - apart from automatic gear.

I had discovered Barbara Guerra before, but not the two Jessicas, thank you, amazing! I especially like Jessica Cox, and it's not as sad too, because she was born that way.(even though they are stories of inspiration, it still can be a bit involuntarily disturbing to me at the same time)

You place the accelerator and the brake on the steering wheel--problem solved. That's assuming you have the appropriate foot dexterity. Even with, I would recommend putting that tea in a sippy cup.

Now there's an accident waiting to happen! She should have her left foot on the brake while shifting into drive; if she'll be steering left-footed, the right foot should go down to the brake and the left come up to the wheel. As is, she's going to stand the chance of driving into something at idle speed - if the car will even let her change gears. . .
