wow: estremely detaild and complex. It reminds me of lava flowing beneath the ocean, forming bubbles, consolidating and growing out of cracks that it opens in its newly formed shell

Yeah, its the gradient that makes the form. Changing the gradient makes it look like ass; you cant even tell theres a vein right there.
