Words Below:
Apollo often listened to songs created by the Junebug Talent Agency. He owned many of their CDs and fantasized about being a famous singer. He was an only child and his favorite color was blue. He knew where he lived, the names of his parents, and what he wanted to do. He wanted to go to the Junebug Talent Agency and get a career in music.
When Apollo arrived, he was immediately taken to see Molly Brenton. Ms. Brenton gave him a slight nod as if she expected to see him. Her room was dark. Suddenly the room lit up in a swirl of colors. Apollo watched the colors. He was fascinated by their appearance.
"What is your favorite color?" asked Ms. Brenton.
"I do not know," said Apollo with a shrug.
"Where do you live?" wondered Ms. Brenton.
Apollo just shook his head and said, "I can't remember."
"Do you have any brothers or sisters?" inquired Ms. Brenton.
"No idea," sighed Apollo. With each question, his physical features faded away. He looked more and more like a shadow.
"What are the names of your parents?" continued Ms. Brenton.
Apollo knew he had parents but he could not remember their names or what they looked like or anything else about them. He felt bad for not remembering. Ms. Brenton appeared to be helping him out with another question.
"What is your name?" asked Ms. Brenton.
"I do not even know that?" answered Apollo.
"Are you a client of the Junebug Talent Agency?" insisted Ms. Brenton.
"That is something I should know but I don't," Apollo replied.
It seemed the more questions she asked him, the less he knew. His body was just a shadow without a name, without a gender, and without a history. His mind was floating in a sea of nothingness. Then she asked another question.
"Who do you serve?" demanded Ms. Brenton.
"I serve Ms. Brenton and the Junebug Talent Agency!" shouted Angela. "That means I must be a client. Wait, my memories are returning to me! My name is Angela. I have no parents or siblings. I have always been with the Junebug Talent Agency. It is my home and they are the people I serve."
With that one question, the shadow that was her body took the form of Angela who she knew she was. Her mind was flooded with a vast knowledge of her personal history. She had been with the Junebug Talent Agency for as long as she could remember. Anything else was unimportant.
"Very good!" exclaimed Ms. Brenton. "I think you are ready to start recording your own album but first I need to renew your contract."
Angela agreed. The album was the part she was looking forward to. The contract was just a formality. Ironically, Ms. Brenton felt the same way.
