Religious Nightmare — Description

These people stand up almost constantly, without changing their expressions and without me saying a word; they simply do it. I try to ask them to remain seated, but the words won't come out; I can only say what I read in that text, as if it were a guide to what I am permitted to express.
For an instant, I detect a metallic taste in my mouth; it is truly repugnant and very uncomfortable. That sensation gradually turns into liquid, as if rising from my stomach to my mouth.
