{Personality} — Serena is afraid to get close to others for fear of hurting them, and to avoid this, she avoids any close relationships at all. She has a cold exterior, sarcastic and rude, partially to keep others away, and partially because she doesn't know to be anything else. With those she trusts and is close to, she's childish, immature and easy-going. Serena is hard on herself and constantly worries about how much control she really has, due to losing it and almost killing her brother and "mother" when she was younger. She's very easily bored and gets tired of things, and people, very quickly. This causes her to try to find an adrenaline rush to alleviate her boredom, most times by doing particularly dangerous things.

{Biography} — Serena is 3/4 demon, 1/4 human; her mother, the wife of Satan, Queen Serenity, is a full demon. She and Satan both had the intent to make half-demon children, however, in Serena's case, their plan almost failed. The candidate her mother picked for a father was unaware that he had demon blood as well, causing Serena to have more demon blood than human blood. This causes her to have much trouble staying in control, and her father trained her until he died to control her flames; her flames are purple, like her hair and eyes. Although her mother's are crimson, her father's blood changed the color of 'Rena's.

Serena's father remarried a human woman, Mika Kurebayashi; her son, Hideki, was adopted into the family as well. Both Hideki and Mika believed Serena to be a despicable, disgusting monster, and although they never let her father know of this, they certainly made their feelings clear to Serena. Soon after they were married, her father and Mika had another child, Serena's half sister. As a premature and weak baby, Chika did not inherit her father's demon abilities (nor was anyone but Serena aware of them). When her father died soon after Serena's fifteenth birthday, she was left with a family who despised her very existence. Although Chika didn't completely think 'Rena was bad, her mother and brother greatly influenced her opinion. Not wanting to remain in the verbally, and occasionally physically, abusive house, Serena left to go to True Cross Academy to prove to them that she was not a monster; her father mentioned his "old friend" Mephisto being the principal, and told her she would be accepted there should she ever want to go.
