Fire FlightI am quite happy with this piece.
I had started it a while ago, and it has undergone a few transformation to end up in this finished state.
Its one of those pieces that inspire me to make more.

some acrylic and collage in back, but mostly oil

I like the energy in the brush strokes. Would you say that this piece is a departure for you?

Thank you! it is a slight departure I believe - Lately I've been either super colorful and experimental mixed media, or more subdued colors + earthy tree-peopleish things in oils, and this sorta combines the experimental colors and my method in oils...
I think I like this direction.

I noticed that, but I also noticed your brush strokes seem more electric, and some go in unexpected directions (perpendicular to the feather flow).

I'm definitely trying to be looser. When I paint with oils, Its easy to get lost in making the shading smoother than I want it to be, and sometimes my undertones get lost - I'm finally able to break away from that. Sometimes I'll still want smoothness, but not every time.

Really nice - is it weird if I say the boobs are the best part? Oh well, I said it anyway.
Just- the way you colored them, the perky little things almost look 3d, like they're sticking out of my monitor. The contrast between to two sets of colors used in the figure, and in the background is very appealing as well. I'd hang it on my wall, any day.

through a local company rather than dA.
This is a new piece and I don't have prints for it yet, but I will be making some.

You can see what it looks like with the border (I tend
to create an interesting background using the actual image, rather than just have black or white in the extra space around the print.
