Bane — Description

Here he is, the Man Who Broke the Bat. Let's learn his pain.
Decades ago, Santa Prisca was an island under fascistic rule by the president, Carlos Trejo. Life was hard if you weren't in the President's inner circle or one of his more dedicated followers, which were a very vocal minority. Protests were held to let the president know that his way of ruling wasn't going to stand and as a result many of the protesters were bludgeoned or shot to death and the others were rounded up and sent off to prison with no trial ever being given to them. One woman inmate was pregnant at the time and 2 months into her imprisonment, she gave birth to boy. With conditions how they were, the baby was very sickly and it was assumed that this baby wouldn't last long, but the woman would continue to tend to her child and give him any comfort she could given their current situation. Despite the odds, the baby grew and made it past any sicknesses he once had. At two years old, the young boy was discovered and thrown into the men's prison, while the women who hid him were killed for getting past the prison's security and finding ways to hide a child. To the guards, if they could do this, then escape would come next. The Warden, Joaquim Silva, and guards never bothered to learn the boy's name and instead gave him a cruel name, Veneno (spanish for poison) as people have a tendency to die around him.
Veneno was raised in a cruel life of having to fight for survival and as far as he knew, the prison was his entire world and nothing was beyond it. The other inmates didn't show Veneno any mercy and took everything given to him, like his meals and water rations. Only one prisoner showed any kindness to Veneno and that was the old man, Tomas. He'd been in prison for 43 years for accidentally killing his wife and daughter in a car crash and he was behind the wheel. Tomas wasn't spared any punishment for losing control and accidentally killing his family and was instead given life in prison. Looking at Veneno, Tomas would see a second chance to help someone in need and so became something of a grandfather figure to the boy. Unfortunately, fate is a cruel thing and when Veneno was 12, Tomas was killed by fellow inmates for not respecting the head of a prison gang. Veneno mourned the loss of the only man to ever show him kindness and threw himself into lifting weights in order to strengthen himself and take vengeance on the gang. After months of working out, Veneno was ready and he confronted the gang, who didn't think much of a 13 year old kid and underestimated him, which would lead to their death as Veneno would fight the 8 man gang and emerge victorious, which gained the attention of the Warden and he'd get Veneno thrown into prison fights and for 7 years, Veneno fought for his life and for whatever rewards came from his victories. At 20 years old, Veneno was pulled from prison and given a choice, serve as the President's bodyguard and hired killer or continue his lifetime sentence. Veneno took the deal and would stay at the president's house to make sure no one ever came even close to taking the president's life and he would be given a new name, Bane. It was also here that Veneno met someone very important, Betty Wilson, a professional torturer who was on the president's payroll to make captured rebels scream and to get whatever information she could out of them. Betty was by all intents andpurposes a monster, but she had a soft spot for Veneno and would show him kindness and care. Betty would even teach Veneno to read as to her, it was a shame that someone his age couldn't read.
On one mission, Bane was sent to find someone in debt to the president and this man was the famed botanist Dr. Jason Woodroe and he was behind in the work that the president paid him to develop and it was a super steroid by the name of VM-1. Jason was ready to take off with whatever vials of VM-1 he developed, that was until Bane showed up. Jason begged for his life and gave Bane the VM-1 to let him live. Bane tried out one of the nine vials and felt a surge of energy life never before. Bane was able to lift up equipment weighing tons and it felt like he was lifting a 500lbs weigh one handed, which was hardly any trouble to him to begin with. Bane started to wonder what his role in Santa Prisca would be if every soldier serving the president could be just as strong as he was and with just a drink of VM-1 and Bane couldn't let that happen. Bane orchestrated the burning of Jason's lab and faking Jason's death so that he could be relocated to another location and make more VM-1 for Bane. Bane returned to Santa Prisca and told of his failure to retrieve Dr. Woodroe and how he only retrieved five vials of VM-1. For his failure, Bane was sent off to one of the most unpleasant missions and with only two vials of VM-1. A "man dressing up like a flying rat" was causing all kinds of trouble to anyone trying to make a living through crime in Gotham and Black Mask put a bounty of $100,000,000 to anyone who could kill The Bat. Bane wouldn't be in Gotham for long when he met with Batman and fought the Dark Knight to a total victory, leaving Batman defeated and retreating. Days later, Batman returned in a mech armor, the Batbot, and would defeat Bane, leading to his arrest. Bane would never forget this as the Batman led to Bane's face being revealed and to man like his, this was a dishonor. In his adult life, only Betty had seen his face and now it was exposed to the whole world. While in prison, Bane was locked down tight in order to prevent him from overpowering the guards.
After years in lock up, Bane would be busted out of jail with the combined efforts of Betty and Jason Woodroe, who she found after going through Bane's coded journals. Together, they got an aerosol based VM-1 to Bane and this caused intense muscle and bone growth, leading to Bane escaping from prison with relative ease. Now free, he was given the rundown on what he missed on the years he was imprisoned. As Bane found out, Jason improved on VM-1 (now VM-2/Venom), though he did have to kill an assistant, Pam, when she stumbled upon his illegal connection and wouldn't keep her mouth shut. Betty also revealed that before Bane went away, they conceived a child, Lola, and she was about 5 years old now and displaying super strength as Lola was conceived while Bane still had some traces of VM-1 in his system and this made her develop an extra organ that naturally made an organic form of VM-1. Not as strong as the synthetic stuff, but it owuld get stronger the older she got.
When Bane returned to Santa Prisca, he was pissed that he was left to rot and that no one besides his love and the doctor made any effort to free him. President Trejo instead berated Bane at hiding Dr. Woodroe and that Bane would be nothing but trash when all the other soldiers would be given Venom and he would no longer be the strongest. This enraged Bane and he smashed every guard around Trejo before grabbing the President's head and crushing it like a grape. Bane was now in charge and he would make Santa Prisca better for all and not just the elite and political sycophants. This would go on for 2 years and things were great for Bane, he ruled an island nation, trained the strongest warriors, had a loving wife and daughter, but there was something still bothering Bane and it was the Batman, the only man to ever defeat and dishonor him. It was time to break the bat. Despite the pleas of Betty and Lola, Bane left them and returned to Gotham. With weeks of planning, Bane caused a city wide gang war and utilized multiple supervillains in order to tire out and isolate Batman. It worked and Bane clutched Batman's smaller body before breaking the hero's back on his knee. Batman's allies managed to arrive and distracted Bane long enough for Batman to be pulled to safety.
With Batman out of commission and his mask in Bane's possession. Bane had restored his honor, but things weren't perfect. Bane leaving did cause tension between him and his family and no amount of strength could ever fix it. 5 months later, a new armored Batman debuted and he was more brutal than the original ever was, he even used a flaming sword and was willing to kill. This Batman journeyed to Santa Prisca and killed every soldier in his way. Bane was ready to fight this Batman and even assumed it was the original until he spoke and sounded nothing like Batman in voice and in how he talked. Batman would maneuver the fight and find Betty and Lola and hold them at his mercy with his flaming sword. Bane would either surrender or lose the only things he ever cared about. Bane surrendered and received a flaming sword right through his chest. Batman took Bane back to Gotham and against all odds Bane was still alive and given over to the GCPD and then over to government where he was secretly put on Task Force X. Bane would be given a pale imitation of Venom for missions. Bane survived many missions and remained in custody for years til he intentionally overdosed on the fake Venom and made his muscles so dense that they crushed the nanobomb in his neck. Bane would escape and be forced into being hired muscle for various villains and/or part of the Legion of Doom, which he found to be annoying but it was best to have friends like these in a world full of heroes. Peace would barely last even by villain standards and Bane would ruin any alliances he'd once had by attacking his cohorts when he discovered that they turned his once beloved home of Santa Prisca into a giant industrial lab where all chemicals and serums that various villains needed would be made and outside of the boundaries of various governments. Bane would take down a number of villains before Lex Luthor blasted Bane's Venom pack, leaving him with less than 10 minutes of Venom use before it wore off. Bane escaped from the Legion base and ran into the dark of the night. With heroes and villains after him, Bane had little choice but to keep running. For weeks Bane lived on edge going from place to place, that was until he came across an old teammate of his from his Task Force X days, one of the greatest assassins in the world, Floyd Lawton aka Deadshot. After Amana Waller was exposed to the world, Task Force X was dissolved and TFX assets had their convictions looked at and by the conditions set by Waller, Floyd already worked off his entire sentence and was free to go. Wanting to make up for all the bad he'd done and serve as a good example for his daughter, Floyd would join a team of neutral agents, neither hero nor villain, but trying to make the world a better place by any means necessary and not through villainous ploys. This team so far was made up of Catman (the leader) Deadshot, Scandal Savage, Ragdoll, and Parady (a woman changed into a Parademon the last time Darkseid invaded but only halfway). Bane, wanting to make a better life for himself, took the deal, but only with the warning of crushing everyone if they betrayed him. This new group would take on the name of a covert spy group from decades ago, The Secret Six.
Additonal Info
1) Osito is Bane's teddy bear and the only possession he carried with him from his childhood. Bane would never know that this came from his mother who sewed the bear together herself. Osito is also made from different materials as he's been torn over the years and even had an arm missing to which Veneno had the arm of a trashed tiger plush used to replace it.
2) Bane would form a father/daughter relationship with Scandal as he feels like he failed Lola, and Scandal has spent years trying to earn her father's approval and love.
3) Lola/Vengeance, ironically, works with Nightwing and is what many consider an anti-hero.
4) Due to prolonged use of Venom, Bane's skin has taken on a gray hue and he must take breath of Venom to calm down his damaged lungs every few days. With how damaging Venom is, Bane must be selective in how often he becomes his strengthed self.
5) Never assume Bane is weaker because he cannot use Venom, he can still tip over a bus with enough exertion.
