Description
The beach water quoll (Dasyura litoralis) is an extant species of dasyurid found in the eastern coastlines of Australia. Measuring 50 cm long, this marsupial patrols the coastlines in search of carcasses or small animals found in tidepools and estuaries. With webbed back feet, the beach water quoll is a particularly competent swimmer. These animals were more commonly found across the coastlines of the continent, but human activity diminished their distribution and abundance.
This species exists in an alternate timeline, that split from our timeline, 15 million years ago, and features Australia in a much more southeastern position, allowing Australia to remain even more isolated from asian interchanges than it was in our timeline.
