Description
TK's stifled exclamations of rage and defiance chased her kidnapper up the stairs until finally, she heard the door thud closed, followed by the surprisingly loud, ominous click of a lock sliding home. That sound brought her struggles to a halt for just a heartbeat, narrowed eyes fixed on the stairway at the opposite corner of the cellar as if in challenge. But then, she threw herself back into the struggle with frantic determination, flexing and bucking, and twisting against the heavy-yet-supple folds of the 'jacket...in search of some weak-point in the imprisoning, overwhelming mess...Long heartbeats passed, in fruitless but confident struggle. TK knew there was a way out - there always was - but couldn't seem to find it. And raw strength and straining didn't seem to be doing the trick either. The dauntless tiger-heroine snapped and wrothe and lunged around from the waist, head whipping about and feet twisting and flexing with the ferocity of her valiant struggles...and many times her tossing, lashing shoulders thumped into the hard wall at her back. But for all of that, the stocks, the jacket, and the muzzle held fast. The wood groaned and crackled, the leather creaked and squeaked...and the tigress growled and gasped, straining against both with every fiber of her being.
Heartbeats slowly turned into moments...which stretched into hours... And still TK fought on, not flagging for one moment in her brave, desperate bid for freedom. Blood-deep defiance and spirit drove her on, but there was some fear, too. Fear of what the lunatic who had so carefully orchestrated her kidnapping might have in store for her if he "kept" her for any length of time. TK's heart pounded like thunder in her ears, a titan's drumbeat behind her ribs...and her muscles slowly began to burn, and then to ache. If she'd been capable, sweat would have been pouring down her...but she wasn't, and so she huffed and wheezed through her nose, the only clear avenue through which she could get the air which seemed to grow thinner by the moment... Eyes narrowing ever more in desperation - and less in defiance, it seemed. For in the battle between the tiger-girl and her unliving, unfeeling "captors", there was one cold reality which could not be escaped: She would get tired - was getting tired - and they...would not...
