Description
The valiant young tigress closed the gap with steps that were both heavy with weariness, and steadily growing in speed as she built up momentum for her attack. Some part of her mind still screamed at her to stop, to go the other way...to get while the getting was good. But she just couldn't do that. Her heart wouldn't let her...in spite of how loudly her brain was telling her that this was a huge mistake...Of course, there was some small bit of logic in the choice as well. After all, if TK did let Morgus beat Sonya, he'd come after TK herself next and there was no way she was going to be able to beat him in a straight-up, face-to-face fight. And without Sonya to tell her how to get out of this madhouse, TK didn't fancy her chances of managing to find the route on her own. Half-starved, as tired as she could ever remember being...even the indomitable young tiger-heroine had a dim view of her chances out there in that maze of traps. While what she was doing was motivated first and foremost by her sense of right and wrong...there was some spark of practicality in the act, as well...
Morgus still didn't notice her even as she got right up on him, TK's shoe-less footfalls, combined with the soft carpeting underfoot, her in-born stealth, and his focus on Sonya...all conspired to give her one good shot at him. And she was determined to make it count. Something in this still struck her as wrong: Hitting him while he wasn't looking... But there was absolutely no way she could take the gigantic mutated thug in her condition. So, she decided to play dirty...and hit him while his back was turned.
So, foregoing any growl, snarl, or roar of aggression, she merely leapt into a bone-weary-but-powerful flying side-kick, her heel aimed straight as an arrow for the base of Morgus' spine...
