Description
"Yes!" TK growled softly, as her wrist finally popped through the hard-edged loop of steely links. It hurt, oh yes it did...but her arm was free! And Sonya was still nowhere in sight. Nor, if TK's assessment was accurate, was the villainess likely to put in an appearance anytime soon. However, she wasn't willing to bank on that theory, and so set immediately to trying to work her left arm loose - a much more difficult proposition, to be sure. The way the chain was wrapped around that limb made a frightening contrast to the sloppiness with which Sonya had bound TK's right. If the villainess had managed to pinion both of the tiger-girl's arms that way...she never would have gotten free. All throughout her desperate struggle to free that right arm, TK had heard intermittent sounds of her captor elsewhere in her vile lair. The sounds would rise in an almost terrifying cacophany for a while, then die down to somehow more unsettling silence...before rising once again in an even more terrible torrent. Sonya was out there wailing, and sobbing, and screaming, slamming who knew what into who knew where. At times, it almost sounded like she was tearing the building apart...and at other times she sounded like a little girl sobbing for her mother. Never could TK make out anything coherent in all of that ranting; in most cases the sounds were too distant, and in the rest she was pretty sure there wasn't anything coherent in the fits to have discerned even if she could have heard them more clearly. TK's scathing rebuke of her villainous tormentor had struck a deep nerve alright, that was perfectly clear... But whether that would bode good or ill for the heroic tigress still remained to be seen.
As she finally jerked her left arm out from its iron-hard entrapment and lunged directly for the chains on her waist, TK vowed that if given the choice, that question would remain academic. Was Sonya's meltdown a good thing or bad? TK had no intention of sticking around to find out...
