Ooh, ouch. I read the same type of article... It basically said that your story has to be so intriguing within the first few chapters that the publisher/agent will be desperate for it. Since the world is so desensitized nowadays and it's harder to keep them amused, that's just the way books and novels have to be. Imagine if Jane Austen wrote her stories today... would they be published? or, what about Charles Dickens... would the publisher consider his stories boring?

LOL Hasta La Vista! *Explode*
Oh my gosh... I think Pride and Prejudice would have worked nowadays if Jane Austen wrote the characters as swanky Manhattan women, sleeping around, and trying to find love (obvious Sex and the City reference)... that always seems to work with publishers. Never the stories about the virtuous girls waiting for their true love...

Hear Hear! I'm not searching for a man, he should be searching for me. The Bible says "when a man finds his wife" Right now, I'm just kicking back and relaxing and being happy where I'm at at this time Because, what else can I do? I can't make a man like me, he'll like me no matter what I do and if it's meant to be, things will happen. I'm not worried about a relationship right now

It's aaaallll cool *kicks back*
I hate the term, "getting a guy" it sounds like they are out on the hunt with tranquilizer guns, preparing to "tame" and "tag" a man, which brings up another thing... I'm not the type of girl to make a man become someone different. I want him to be who he is.

totally, man, HUGE. If you feel the relationship going in that direction, it might be time to talk things out. And, when you're married, don't make the man so demasculinized that he has to beg you to even life his arm... Gosh, what is wrong with these women... they cage their husbands up and decrease the man's will to live!
I'm going to have a "No Nagging" Policy.
LOL "Crikey! He;s set his eyes on another girl! TAG HIM! QUICK!" *shoots tranquilizer* "He's mine now!"

Taking out the trash is one of the most used examples
I don't want my husband to refer to himself as "whipped" and I, by no means, want to make my husband that way

Oh, they have mosquitos in the amazon... Crazy big ones that would require massive bug sprayers... and, if they don't get you, they've got pythons, tarantulas, jaguars, etc.

Me Darcy, you Lizzy...
Well, the Jaguars would basically do the normal shebang... lunging and then cutting off your air ways... *ehem* anyways, now I'm starting to feel caustic today... I don't know, today is a little boring to me and a little sarcasm is a pick up for me
