I once found a freshly dead pelican floating in a river⦠it had died because a fish it had tried to eat had a hook in its mouth, and had hooked into the pelican's throat skin. Starved to death with food in its mouth that it couldn't eat and couldn't get rid of.
Made me mad at fishermen

I've lost quite a few fish hooks myself, and I don't even fish that often.

The one and only time I went fishing, all the fish were too smart. They kept nibbling the bait off without getting hooked XD
I know there's plenty of responsible fishermen out there too, I just spend a lot of time on coastlines and find all sorts of rubbish from the ones that aren't
