So, did you know that Slide Fortissimo's twin brother, Green Screen, has a cutiemark design of a laptop computer?
Green Screen got involved with technology and probably introduced the concept of electronic technology to Slide. They worked together but Slide had to practice his trombone most of the time, so Green had to finish the work on his own, inventing the first laptop computer in Equestria. He shared the credit with Slide and they are both awesome. ^^

Per Word of God (specifically Meghan McCarthy) "Twilight will not outlive her friends." That doesn't necessarily mean she's not immortal, but it was definitely meant to imply that since it was given as an answer to the question of whether Twilight is immortal.
Looking directly at the show, Cadance has visibly aged since she used to foalsit Twilight, and more to the point appears to be aging at the same rate as Twilight based on comparing that flashback to the present. Ergo she is young, ergo she was made an alicorn in the last couple of decades. That implies that there's at least a few new princesses per century on average, which implies that if all alicorns were immortal we'd see a lot more than four of them. Either most alicorns are mortal or being a princess is a dangerous enough job that they seldom live long enough for it to be relevant that they're ageless.

She doesn't count; she's a freakish natural-born alicorn, not a created one. And she's only a princess because of her mom.

There have been a few alicorns through the show as far as I've watched and can remember. I assume being born an alicorn is a bit like being an albino. A mutation that can happen, but only rarely.

It really depends on who you ask. And as far as I know by the episodes I watched nobody ever said something about ALL alicorns being immortal.
I personally kinda go with Celestia and Luna being more than normal beings and that is why they live that long.

Tried to google it but could not find anything so it probably is still unclear if Twilight and Cadance count as the same type of alicorn as Luna and Celestia or if they are different since they wheren't born as alicorns but made into ones

I think the Journal of the Two Sisters talked about how Cadance earned the right to become a princess and as far as i know the Journal is counted as Canon
