Description
I dug these up and decided to upload them, seeing as the first one is basically where we are in the comic now time wise! When I decided to make Torpid into a graphic novel, I tried many different styles for it. My original intention was to make it traditionally, inspired by one of my favorite webcomics, but after conducting these two pages, I decided that making it digitally would be more beneficial for me.
The first attempt was just making the comics with inks. And as you can see, the result was kinda lackluster. I don't really have much experience with inking, and it's a very careful progress as far as my understanding for it goes - so I was kinda missing what I wanted to achieve, which was atmosphere.
The second attempt was made using markers. It was definitely better, but time consuming as all hell. Pretty sure I had to apply at least three rounds with the marker to achieve that colour on Triplus. So, this one was trashed as well in favor of making the comic digitally. This page was the birth of the "KAZ" tag, which is spread throughout the comic.
Enjoy!

You know what, if that actually happened in the comic, with Kyle being all angry and stuff, it would definitely surprise some people. Although, being the sadist that I am, it would be kind of funny to see Flame's face if that did happen.
By the way, loving the style on the right side of the page.

Yeah, it definitely corresponds to his personality at this point, but as I continued writing his character, a more distant approach seemed more appropriate. Remember, he's having some serious downtime from his last high, and he's probably feeling very sick and weak atm, which again matches up to his current reaction to his surroundings.
