Description
I didn't see this contest until quite late, but I had to try and at least make something with the time I had. Ghibli films have always been close to my heart and especially the background artists like Oga that got me into painting environments in the first place.Related content

YES!!!! Instant fav.
You've done the film proud. And that is certainly something that is difficult to do. Well done!

Very much in the nature of Ghibli. I'll be surprised if your submition doesn't win anything.

Hold it! Though it is true that the background arts in ghibli films are awesome, it is actually art directors who are in charge of it, not the author (Miyazaki, in this case) himself (and prehaps herself, one day, who knows?). The forest, however, has been made by M. Oga, who where the art for Totoro and Pom Poko. Since his natures illustrations are beautifull, Miyazaki has required that he made the background for this particular scene.

Agree. I find his works excellents. (it's a shame that I have such an horrible memory that I cannot even remember his first name :/)
