I agree with the 2001 resemblance, very nice work!

I think those obelisks are still floating around out there somewhere. Glad you like the image, Peter!

I like the perforated massiveness here. And that extra little thing in the lower right is intriguing, has a different feeling from the monolith.

In the lower right I see a foreground of houses on a hillside, above which the huge monolith towers.

Oh yeah - that's a great read of it. The shapes seem so different there - are they something in the monolith enlarged - or vice versa - or is that not a relevant question?

All questions are relevant.
I suppose I'll have to divulge a trade secret. Check out Noah's Arc. What you see in this image is a close-up of a portion of the arc. It's been modified, of course, but you can still see some vestiges of the arc. Check out the extreme lower right corner and compare the bands there with the larger bands of the arc.

Oh yeah! Wow. That is why fractals are so cool.

Although there's not much resemblance, I tend to picture the black monolith in 2001: A Space Odyssey.

it reminds me of that too. i think there's a lot of resemblance! it sort of looks like the borg cube, too. (star trek)
