Practice - Kryth — Description
So surgery rotation kind of got in the way with my drawing... it has been a while since I've drawn anything by tablet, so I decided to practice using an idea for a new webcomic. I know this is probably the last thing some of you want to hear, but I get new ideas all the time and it irritates me not being able to flesh them out. I wish I could work on several different webcomics at once, but I only have one of me for all the different stories I come up with. And I realized that in all 4 of my comics, though they deal with fantasy/sci-fi, there are no animals/beasts in them. The only thing that comes close is the ice wurm that shows up in TSB when Sam and Darus fought on the Casus Highbridge. I used to love drawing weird creatures and stuff as a kid, so it's strange that I didn't involve that in any of my comics.

Anyway...

This comic is called Kryth. The setting is more medieval than the rest of my comics, and more about fantasy and magic, even moreso than Glyphmaster. A brief intro to the story goes like this...

So there's this giant wurm called Kryth, the monster depicted in the picture above. It terrorizes the castles and villages, wreaking havoc and destroying everything and everyone in its path. Some people have even called it a demon or a god, because it can use its minor tentacles to cast powerful magic spells. It's major tentacles (with the giant claws on the ends) just shred stuff to pieces.

The grand hierarch, (kind of like a king, but also the highest religious prelate in the land) decides to organize a group of 5 brave warriors to command a troop of 100,000 men to hunt and destroy Kryth. I'm planning on doing a few more practice sketches of each of the five warriors, so I'll tell you a little about each:

Dragoon Adept Jerrick Norender, whose great spear Stonebreaker can divide mountains
Blade Master Kashali Ryknamath, whose edges - Inception, and Terminus were forged from the corpse of the vermillion hellkite.
Archer General Gillem Hillcrest, whose arrows could traverse the blood sea
Hierarch Elia Goldthorn, daughter of the Grand Hierarch, whose knowledge of dispelling magic surpasses even her father's

And the leader of the five...

The hero Alaren Vargas, who at age 21 slayed the vermillion hellkite, and used it's molten blood to forge his greatsword, dragonsbane.

Now this may sound very familiar to you, as I'll bet there are a hundred other fantasy stories that involve a bunch of people going to hunt a giant monster. But this story is strange because the story starts after they vanquish Kryth, and begins upon their return home, and deals a lot more with the aftermath; the part that you never see, what happens after the monster dies.

I'm not going to give away anything, but things get really complicated as tensions develop between the survivors, as new alliances form, and the heroes begin to understand what exactly Kryth was, and what it was truly capable of.
