My first tattoo
I know some of you have already seen it but thought it deserved to be shown on here too
It's the line from "The Riddle of Strider" - Lord of The Rings
Not all those who wander are lost
Well more literally its the Quenya (high elvish) translation of that which is: La ilye yante ranya nar vanwe in Tengwar calligraphy.
lol or at least a variation on it, all the translations i found agree on the words just not the order of them
but its close enough for me.It's a permenant reminder of the journey to machu picchu last year, the life changing travelling i have done and the travelling i plan to do, but also my own journey as someone who likes to explore off the beaten track a little in life.

How did you translate it to the quenya script? I'd like to get Roch, "horse" done but after extensive research into sindarin and quenya I gave up because I'm just terrible at languages!

Gandalf puts it in the letter to Frodo at the Prancing pong in Fellowship and Bilbo quotes it in the Council of Elrond.

It did hurt a bit in parts, specifically the last part near my heel but it was never more than i could handle. I think it depends on how high your pain threshold is. I kept myself destracted the whole time and just focused on the end result. Have to say it was totally worth it

lol um...not to be overly adult about it but i think a tattoo should be something that means soemthing too you and not there just for the sake of it or you might regret it.
I waited until i had something i wanted and permenant reminder of and then found something better with memories and promises all inside the one thing.
