Description
Breathing light! > www.youtube.com/watch?v=wsdgaQ…The Monserrate Palace (Portuguese: Palácio de Monserrate) is an exotic palatial villa located near Sintra, Portugal, the traditional summer resort of the Portuguese court. It was built in 1858 for Sir Francis Cook, an English baronet created visconde de Monserrate by King Luís. Monserrate turned to an English architect, James Knowles Jr., for designs. Though its Moghul-inspired details are unique in Portugal, its eclecticism is a fine example of the Sintra Romanticism, along with other nearby palaces, such as the Pena Palace.
The Monserrate Palace Gardens, a landscaping job designed by the painter William Stockdale with botanist William Nevill and James Burt, master gardener.

Simply spectacular. I enjoy how everything looks metallic and marbleized at the same time. Smooth floor is contrasted against the walls' almost lace-like texture. The height of the ceiling is intimidating. Great capture of the hundred-foot-plus gothic cathedral ceilings seen in many structures.
The entire picture portrays the structure as having a fragile skin, while its bones are made of iron. Yet there is the feeling that the impending dread that the ceiling will come crashing down on you in a rocky inundation of bricks and fragile architectural pieces.
Congratulations. As aforementioned, this is spectacular.
