Just makin' some arts with my boy Gild. I wanted to do something with a gold leaf sort of look and ended up with this. Which I like, so... yay. I would say more, but I'm tired and want to find something to eat. XD Oh, oh I almost forgot! For those of you that don't follow me over on Tumblr, check this out -> anna-earley.tumblr.com/post/59β¦ My friend and I did a trade where I painted one of her characters and she made me a super cute plushie of Gild. Thank you! And I used photos of real gold leaf paper to get the effect. I spliced a few different images together and layered them to get the specific texture I wanted.

Actually, he's not invoking the bat. The bat and the boy are the same character. Or more, the bat is the character, and the boy is like a "disguised form" I suppose. It's not meant to be a portrait of him mid-transformation though, but rather just a double portrait of both forms.
As for the bones, it was mostly just a compositional decision. Though I made them that shape partially to be vaguely reminiscent of a bat wing.

How do you get the stained glass to look so symmetrical? *o*
And I assume you used premade textures for some of it, right?

Apart from the two faces, I only drew the left side of the linework, then to get it symmetrical, I just duplicated my left side lines ad flipped them to the right side. Easy peasey.

lol, nah it's fine. Honestly, I don't even time right now. I just figured out today that the book I thought wasn't supposed to be ready until February is actually scheduled for the end of next month. *sob* Why publisher, whyyywyywywhhhywywyyyy????? I literally just finished the last book like, a week ago.
