Description
Edward James Nashton, later changed to Edward Nygma, is the deranged serial killer known as the Riddler who has threatened Gotham with lethal puzzles and riddles.

Edward grew up to an abusive father and neglectful mother. He ran away from home when he was young and hid in Gotham, using his intellect and talent for solving puzzles to steal money and amass a small fortune. Despite his success at not being caught, he felt a crushing sense of ennui; he felt bored by lack of a challenge. So he decided to up his game by setting up dangerous tests, riddles, and games around the city and placing captured city officials in them. Eventually, he was hunted down by the Batman and he was placed in Arkham Asylum.

Edward's already slim sanity began to decline slowly, with his narcissism and rage building slowly. He saw the Batman as both the ultimate riddle and the perfect adversary.

Riddle me this, riddle me that... Jim Carrey did okay; you got a problem with that?

I heard that 'The Dark Knight Rises' was once supposed to have the Riddler as the villain instead of that buzzkill Bane. And honestly, that would have been cool. But I wonder who they would have gotten for it... whoever they got, I doubt they would be as good as Cory Michael Smith. I mean, at first, I thought it was a strange choice... and then I saw the guy. Damn, Cory, you're awesome! Now I want you to be every Riddler incarnation ever, please.

The theme is Symbolism. But honestly, I don't know how well I conveyed that.
