Kind of reminds me of the "world-level disaster" reboots of the Dragonlance setting, way back when. "Ditch the current game system! Put the clerics out of a job, since we're getting rid of their deities! Coolness!"

I was so disappointed when Dragonlance was basically scrapped in that fashion.Β Dragons?Β Gone.Β Gods/Clerics?Β Who needs them.Β Knights of Solamnia?Β Lets gut them ... again...Β Arcane Magics?Β Time to nerf (since the three gods are gone).Β Too many elven cultures to keep track of.Β Time to strip the Silvanesti elves from the world.
The War of Souls trilogy felt hamfisted.Β The whole Takhisis plot was interesting, but Paladine becoming mortal felt wrong.Β I expected either a permanent sacrifice (leave the pantheon or death).Β With Mina, I had hoped she would replace Takhisis and Paladine would return.Β Instead we got the ... wtf is she supposed to be again?Β A bi-polar deity with multiple personality disorder?Β She preserves the balance; sooo... she is Neutral?Β
