'60 Delray or Biscayne. Can't be an Impala because it's only got 4 tail lights total. Reminds me a lot of Voodoo in GTA SA! Can't imagine how it ended up all the way out in the woods.... unless it was bought new and something really really expensive broke out of warranty or something. Amazing how you still get the aquatic color vibes, even after all these years.

Normally I would agree, but the badges literally said Impala on each side of the car. So either it is an Impala, or somebody mixed up the badges decades ago.
Lol, me neither. From what I understand there used to be a house nearby, so I'm guessing this was more open 40 to 50 years ago when the thing was parked. And the forest grew up around it

Pretty much, yeah. My uncle already took the engine out and most of whatever else was salvageable. This is behind his house, abandoned by a previous owner.

He's a former auto mechanic. Very friendly intelligent guy, and very knowledgeable about cars and salvage. One thing I learned from him is the value of salvage yards.

Yup, green works in more than one way though. Old cars were simpler, built more durably and lasted longer. That's green in that the car remains on the road and in use longer. Added to that, new cars have become more complicated and many components(or the whole) may come from a region of the world with questionable environmental laws and worker treatment. And if a major component breaks the fix is far more expensive, so you're more likely to scrap the car instead.

uh........ yeah it is!!! if you think its a impala or a biscayne its not!!! impalas had a stainless rear panel with 6 tailights while biscaynes had just 4 tail lights and the rear panel was painted to match the rest of the body!!!!!! but this car here has 4 tail lights and a white painted rear panel which means this car is a 1960 BEL AIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1957 looks nothing like 1960. Pretty much every Bel Air up through the mid-60s can be easily told apart. The thing is that once the fancier Impala and more basic Biscayne were introduced in 1958, the Bel Air was no longer the top model but rather a middle-range car. This car doesn't have enough side trim to be an Impala, but it has more trim than a Biscayne, and it has only four taillights, so it's a Bel Air. Nothing you didn't already know, I guess.

I wasn't born knowing this stuff. Google and Wikipedia, TV shows and documentaries, automotive books and car magazines and dealer brochures hold the answers. And car shows, and general observation of vehicles on the road. :3

it happens to a lot of us. that's why i pump up the contrast in curves, in photoshop before i post anything. It still looks great though so don't worry about that. great shot. dynamic angle. Nicely executed!
